Kentucky

I just had a lovely thanksgiving in Kentucky. I hadn't been up there in four years. It's so beautiful there. I haven't uploaded my digital shots yet but here's one of my polaroids I shot at Ried's Orchard.

Before I left, I also shot a few polaroids of the leaves before they finished changing. Here's my favorite:

and here's my latest etsy purchase. A recycled book turned notebook I got for my mom from YourSecretAdmiral

buy handmade

I just signed the "buy handmade" pledge. It's basically a pledge to try to buy all handmade items this holiday season (via etsy, independant sellers, etc.) and to influence as many others as possible to do the same.
I Took The Handmade Pledge! BuyHandmade.org

I've been really into cooking lately and just made this delicious recipie I saw on the food network's "Everyday Italian". I get so many amazing recipies from their website. This is spicy parmesan green beans and kale. It was so yummy and easy to make!

Since I'm on the vegetable kick I might as well share one of my favorite items on etsy. It's a beautiful photograph from six hours photography called "sprouts"

magazine feature

I just found out that I am going to be in the debut issue of Bleed Magazine! This is an Atlanta-based magazine promoting visual art, music, and literature. I'll post pics when the issue comes out. I'm so excited!

I'm out of a camera until Thanksgiving :( So here's my latest listing on my etsy page. enjoy!:

galactic boutique

I am so happy to announce that my work will now be available at Galactic Boutique in Seattle, WA. I've never had my work in a store before, so I am very excited about this.

I've been helping my husband promote his etsy shop lately so I think this is a good place to give him some exposure. He is selling prints of his amazingly beautiful oil paintings. Soon I hope he will be able to add some small originals and silverpoint drawings. This is his latest piece:

notecards

I just finished making some new notecards this weekend. I use a unique process where I print my cards onto paper, then I take the paper and was infuse it. This is where you paint melted beeswax on the back and use a heat gun to pull to was through the fibers of the paper. It gives it an almost skin-like texture and the colors stand out more. I then stitch the pieces onto a regular blank notecard. Here's an example of one I listed today in my etsy shop:

I had a lovely Halloween and my cotstume turned out well. I was a 1950's librarian that night. My hair was interesting the next day to say the least:
