fade into you

On saturday my husband took me all around town stopping at every random place on the side of the road I wanted to take pictures. I'm so lucky. I wanted to play with this new (to me) technique of lens whacking. It took me little while to figure it out, but it is so fun and you get such dreamy results. Too bad I can't use it with the self-timer. I've now added this to my wishlist. We can celebrate half-birthdays right?

breathtaking

I never even really cared about veils when I was getting married, but this stunning one from twigs and honey makes me want to get married all over again. sigh.

(how ironic that my last post of a day of silence was my 500th post. didn't even realize it.)

For Japan With Love

I'm a very visual person and it wasn't really until I saw this video of someone's firsthand account of the water filling up the street in a matter of minutes when it truly affected me.

two of my favorite things

I love it when two things I love come together. I give you nadinoo worn by half and photographed by the other half of the honey trees. Doesn't get much better than that.

ACC

I went to the American Craft Council show this weekend with my mom and my husband. I usually like about 30% of the stuff presented. I got a clay hand to go with my collection of hands (I should photograph that...). I regret not a piece by this wonderful jewelry artist Ashley Buchanan. She hand cuts the pieces out metal and leaves some raw and others she powder coats. When I have some extra money I'm going to have to get one of her cuffs. They're so gorgeous! She also has an etsy shop here.

reconfigure

My friend magda invited me to be a part of this amazing show Reconfigure at Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, FL. The opening was this friday and while sadly I couldn't attend, she posted some photos of the show on flickr.

National Geographic just finished their project of recreating the house carried by helium balloons in Up! I love stumbling across pleasant news stories. More pics here
