What goes better with summer than a nice cool refreshing treat...alcohol.  The delicious recipes combine both for the perfect evening delight on the back porch.

topiary art

I was looking through an old copy of the late House & Garden and came across this interesting article on topiarist Matt Larkin. He welds this beautiful metal forms (this article focuses on his animal pieces) and then grows the plant to create the shape of the structure. You could have a very easy to maintain version of Edward Scissorhands' garden in your own backyard.

What a day. I've been doing a lot of promoting today, getting things ready for the busy shopping season. I think I'll promote someone else's work right now instead.

Ever since I joined etsy I have been a huge admirer of Jen McCleary's work. Her shop is fill with many amazing pieces just waiting to be taken home by someone (ideally me). This is one of my favorite pieces from her:

I just love the colors and how you can see the brush strokes and the texture of the lace. It's beautiful. You can buy her work at jenmccleary.etsy.com

My sister-in-law is studying abroad in Paris right now. I'm so jealous, but so happy for her at the same time. The closest thing I can get to France is this lavender french soap from savon de marseille.

First Post

This is my first blog ever so it may take some gettin used to. I want this blog to be about all the things I love, such as art interior design, animals, and living a healthy lifestyle. I think I'll just touch on three of those for my first entry.

Right now I am completely obsessed with etsy.com. I have had a photography shop on there for a few months and am really excited by all of the amazing things people are creating. I've sold a few pieces and hope to start selling on a regualr basis in the near future. Here's one of my favorite pieces right now:

I've also just discovered this amazing new (to me) drink. I try to drink mainly water but this sparking apple juice by IZZE is so delicious! There's no added sugar it's completely natural. I'm kind of glad it only comes in small bottles or I would buy it way too often.

Another thing I'm craving right now is a new teapot. I've really gotten into tea the past year and drink it regulary in the colder months. I love this little green one from anthropologie. Maybe I can hint at it as an anniversary present.....

Apparently, I have a thing for green right now.
