snow day number three

This is absolute ridiculousness (wow spell check thinks that's really a word.) Everyone in atlanta is getting cabin fever because of all of this snow and ice. Yesterday it was just slush but it refroze overnight. This hasn't happened since the blizzard of '93. The roads aren't supposed to be drivable until sat. We went on a short trip last night to the grocery and there was literally almost no produce. Crazy.

Usually we get snow for maybe a day and then it melts instantly. At least there's that park across the street so I got to take some photos yesterday.

snow snow snow!

another snow day! We got about 7 inches of snow here (the most we've had in a VERY long time). I just hope it melts so I can go to work tomorrow! I'm getting cabin fever from all this time off with the holidays and being sick. At least it's pretty to look at though.

and my dogs seem to be enjoying it!

pocket book

I absolutely love these hand embroidered "book" clutches by Olympia Le-Tan. How fun are they? Way out of my price range, but it could be fun to try and recreate.

today is...

...my birthday! Sorry I haven't been posting this week. I've been sick since NYE. Hopefully, that's all over now so I can enjoy today. We're finally going to see the Dali exhibit that's here. It's supposed to be amazing, but I've been saving it for my birthday because there is never anything to do in January!

books continued

These are my favorite specialty books from this year. Some I read, some were gifts that I just kept looking through before handing them over. Whenever I go to Barnes and Noble to just look I always go for these books. I just can't peruse in fiction for some reason.

72 books

Happy New Year! didn't make it to 100 this year. I started out really well. I was really into everything I was reading. Then, about mid-summer, I just couldn't find very many books I was into. It's hard to keep the momentum going. Let's see if I can do it in 2011. Here are my top 10 from 2010:
