movie stills: the night of the hunter

One of the most beautifully shot films I have ever seen. Just watched The Night of the Hunter last night with Robert Mitchum (who I am now deeply terrified of). It was such a simple story yet so beautifully done. It will stay with you for days. 1955.

midnight in paris

We went and saw midnight in paris last week and all I can say is wow. It's rare that I get the feeling of "I am going to fall in love with this movie" while watching it, but it happened during this. This movie captures paris in a way that no other film has (and I've seen a LOT of films of paris). Go and see it. Your eyes will thank you.

exotic celebration

The one thing I love about summer is having outdoor parties. It's (slightly) cooler out. There's lightning bugs fluttering around and you can hear the crickets. We need to have a gathering soon.

wanderlust

These photos and videos from chance are making me want to go to a secluded cottage by the sea. I just did an outdoor art festival this Saturday from 10-7 in 95 degree heat! And as if that wasn't enough for me I went to my husband's baseball game yesterday (with no shade) for four hours. Someone turn down the sun. I need to go on vacation...soon...

hair dilema

I like to change my hair a lot. For the past 5 1/2 years I've been a redhead and was blonde most of my life up until then. (a brief summer of magenta, a day of temporary black and brunette for about 6 months) Lately I've been toying with the idea of going back to blonde. I know I will eventually, but I'm not sure if I'm ready yet. I also don't know what to do with my bangs. We have a love/hate relationship. (the hate usually comes when it's time for a trim...)

Maybe I should just go really light blonde/red...I can't decide.

polaroid black

After several weeks of not posting or photographing. I finally took some shots with my new black frame polaroid film. (which I love) Why didn't they do this ages ago? The black just makes everything more striking. Now I need to play with the new color film.
