movie interiors - breakfast at tiffany's

I just finished reading Breakfast At Tiffany's by Truman Capote:

and I have to say, while I enjoyed the book, it is one of those rare few that I enjoyed the movie so much more. The Holly in the book was so much more crude. Just another reason why I love Audrey Hepburn so much. So of course I'm featuring her beautiful apartment as my movie interior this week.

finally updated it to a much better picture now that I own it on blu-ray.  It looks absolutely amazing.  It was like watching it for the first time.  I can't believe I never noticed her shoe was hidden in a blue donkey!?

art books

I've been wanting some new art books lately. I have a lot, but haven't gotten any in the past few years. Here's a few that are on my wish list right not.

The Upset
I saw this one at anthropologie and it is an amazing collection of contemporary artists. (remember the gang paintings in The Royal Tennenbaums)

Joseph Cornell
I don't know how I don't have a Joseph Cornell book yet.

Amy Sillman
I've only read about this book, but it sounds gorgeous.

Vitamin P
Another collection of contemporary artists. This one is only painters though.

and some of my favorites from my bookshelf:

Anselm Kiefer
Whoa looks like this one went up in value and is now out of print.

Basquiat

Rauschenberg
Also no longer available

Spilling Open
If you have not seen this, you need to check it out. Part art book, part journal, part work of art. Also check out her other books Brave on the Rocks and Messy Thrilling Life

forgot

I forgot to post the cover of his book, so here it is:

will be available at amazon

book portrait

My brother's first novel is being published right now and is coming out 09/09/09 :) He asked me to take his portrait for his author's photo. It's so funny working with someone who hates to have their picture taken. I had to take over 350 photos of him to get some descent shots. I just found out his publishers love my shots. Not sure which one they will pick yet. Here's a few of my favs:

I don't think this one will work for the book, I just love this shot.

I'll post when I know which one they pick. (btw-his book is called Scorch Atlas, he also released a novella in February called Ever.)

paris

My husband and I decided that we would go to Paris on our 5th wedding anniversary (if we can afford to). It's just under a year and half away and judging by my amazon wish list and bookshelf, I can't wait!

movie interiors - twilight

I absolutely adore the Cullen house in the movie twilight. I would love to have a house like that someday, surrounded by beautiful trees and no noisy neighbors. A girl can dream.

I love all of the art they have everywhere.

I want Edward's room so bad. I would have to put a balcony up though...

the view doesn't get any better than that.
