slow times

nothing much going on right now. My husband starts school tomorrow to get his masters in art education while working full time, so I'm about to get really bored. More time for artwork I guess! Here's my latest:

vintage and tea

I've been working on several new images this past week and am very happy with the results. I hadn't made anything in almost a month and was feeling uninspired. I decided to play around with a few old shots and came up with this piece:

delicate morning

I then got inspired and found some beautiful vintage props from my parent's house and came up with this piece:

wallflower

and this polaroid diptych:

It's a shot of my mother's pink wedding dress from Saks Fifth Avenue in 1969. On it is a tin pink flower that's from the wrapping of the first christmas present my father ever gave her. (a white fur coat)

new work

I've been doing a lot of new work in two series lately. The first is a femininity series. It's focused mainly on elegance, evening and softness. Layers of lace and sparkle. Here's a couple from that series:

whisper gently

a little bit of sparkle
The second series is focused on childhood and the feeling of being not quite ready to grow up. I've been using mainly plastic jewelry and summer childhood activities like hula hooping and blowing bubbles.

It's been awhile...

Wow, I haven't been on here in awhile. I've done a ton of work, been published a few places, got a new job and have my work in this really cool new restaurant in downtown Atlanta. I will slowly post the main things that have happened over the last six months. I'll start with the piece that is now on display at The Shed restaurant in Glenwood Park:

My cousin Caroline also has her amazing jewelry on display there as well modluv.etsy.com:

and here's my most recent piece from my cardboard series (since that's where I left off last time.) :
