home updates

As promised, here are the photos of our recent updates. We painted all three rooms and changed around the artwork. I also made new curtains for the living room and we finally got my grandmother's antique chairs upholstered. They're a little short so I'm not sure how we're going to fix that, but we'll manage. Doesn't the vase my friend made go perfectly? He didn't even know we were redoing anything.

firework study

I just came across this gorgeous book by artist Pierre Le Hors. The images are so striking in black and white. I love how the fireworks start out subtle then build up to these dramatic explosive shots. Simply breathtaking. Just added to my wishlist.

new shoes

As soon as I saw these shoes I fell in love. I never knew one shoe could have so many amazing things all rolled into one! Not only are they extremely well made and comfortable (I didn't even get the break-in blisters) they are nude which go with everything and they have little jewel and spike embellishments. When I was in middle school I put spike screws in the laces of my boots. I've never spent this much money on shoes before, but these are so badass. And you know who convinced me that I should buy them....my husband. Yep, I'm a lucky girl indeed.

(oh and if you get them from HSN you can pay from them in interest-free monthly installments which is what I did.)

silhouette masterpiece theatre

Sorry I've been awol this week. We've been working on our house all week. It started with my mom finally pushing to get these antique dining chairs of my grandmother's reupholstered and I decided we needed to repaint the entire main floor of our house. (sounds worse than it was, two rooms and a small hallway). Will post pics when everything's put together.

In the meantime, check out these amazing and hilarious pieces from Wilhelm Staehle. I think my favorite has to be the two bears eating goldilocks. "just right."

Flow Magazine

I was lucky enough to be contacted by the wonderful people at Flow Magazine last month and was asked if they could feature my work in their upcoming issue. Having never heard of it (as it's a publication from the netherlands) I said sure why not. I was so thrilled when my copy arrived in the mail this week and I got to see this amazing magazine in person. I can't understand most of what it says, but it is chock full of eye candy. So proud to be a part of it.

p.s. I'm also in the latest issue of f-stop which goes online today.
