I remember when this came out, I was a senior in High School and had absolutely no interest in watching anything like this. I can't remember when I eventually saw it, but despite the corny predictable kids story, there is an amazing fire station loft that I want to have. What kid didn't want to have their own secret tower in their room that they could go sulk in? I always wanted the one in Hocus Pocus, but I think this one is even better the the sliding door. I love all of the bright colors and the art everywhere. It even has the original fireman's pole to slide downstairs. What a fun place to grow up in!

Met Gala 2013
I'm a little late posting this, but this year's met gala has to be one of my absolute favorites. Way better than last year where everyone played it super safe. The theme was Punk and people took it in many different directions. I tried to narrow it down to just my top five, but I couldn't do it. Rooney Mara was definitely my favorite though in her gorgeous white ruffle and zipper Givenchy dress. I don't know who that last woman is, but her crown of gold safety pins is amazing. Such fun! More photos here.

a lovely day for tea
On my mom's most recent trip to visit her family in Kentucky my amazing aunt sent back with her, my grandmother's HUGE collection of pink depression glass. I now have more than I know what to do with. I've got enough to have a complete plated dinner for 8 people including serving platters, tea, ice cream, floats, and even salt and pepper shakers! I must have some people over soon.

movie interiors: the notebook
Oh Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, why oh why did you have to break up? The Notebook was on tv this weekend (unedited no commercials!) so of course I had to watch it again. The house in this movie that Ryan Gosling's character Noah restores is so incredibly beautiful. I wish we had been able to see more of it! The exterior is flawless with it's gorgeous columns and that amazing wrap around porch (per Allie's request). There are so many amazing spots to sit and relax outside, with views like that, I would have a hard time deciding! One of my favorite parts of this house is the painting studio he made for her. So simple and perfect. I miss the days where all supplies were sold in glass bottles and metal tins. Noah's workshop is incredible also. Can you imagine working out there with the fresh air all day just making furniture? Such a beautiful home.
I've also created a new facebook fan page for my art. Here's the link if you'd like to join me there: Morgan Kendall Art I deleted my old fan page because they wouldn't let me change the name and I want all of my art, not just photography represented.
