Suzanne Lee is revolutionizing couture fashion design by actually growing her own "fabric". That's right, I said growing. Apparently you can actually grow solid material using bacteria. It's pretty crazy. You'll have to watch this video to fully appreciate it. While I wouldn't actually want to wear it, it's absolutely beautiful and amazing what she's doing.

there and back again

Back from our trip to the beach. Would have been more fun if there hadn't been 30 mph winds and some rain, but we still had a good time. Here's a preview of one of the many shots I took. This one includes that crown of branches I was telling you about. Will post more tomorrow.

I have to admit, when this movie first came out, I had no interest in seeing it. Then one day it happened to be on tv so I gave it a chance. I thought it was adorably hilarious. Maybe because I've seen almost every Doris Day movie out there, but this movie was really cleverly done. Of course, the amazing set design didn't hurt either. I love the polar opposites of their apartments. Hers is bright white filled with punches of bright pinks and yellow while his apartment is all dark woods with hi-tech gadgets and a color scheme of deep blues and hints of orange.

6 years ago today I married the love of my life. We've been through so many good times and hardships. I can't imagine my life without him.

manhattan happenstance

I am in love with the apartment of Andi Potamkin from the recent anniversary issue of Rue. My favorite part is either the photograph of Andy Warhol above the console display of cameras and the albums beneath or the huge black painting above the wooden shelf of gorgeous books complete with a record player. There's something so laid back about the attitude of this apartment. How there's little collection of books, magazines and jewelry just strewn about but put together all at the same time. Definitely one of my favorite places I've seen in a while.
