beautiful covers

remember this amazing series of embroidered book covers from penguin? Well, there's a new series coming out designed by artist Rachell Sumpter. Just added The Wizard of Oz to my wishlist.

the hunger games

After hearing about it from a few people whose opinions I trust, I decided to read The Hunger Games last week. I read it in two days. Then I got the second book. I read that in two days. I started the third book yesterday and am going to finish it today. (this is restraining myself not to rush through them mind you.) I absolutely love this series so far. I'm really worried about how the whole thing will end though. If you want a book that's an easy read and the story just sucks you in so completely it doesn't matter what else is going on around you then I highly recommend this series. I can't wait for the first movie next month. I love Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. Perfect.

warm weather shoes

check out these adorable burlap ballet flats from TOMS. With the weather being this ridiculously warm (the cherry blossoms and daffodils have already started blooming!!) I might have to snag me a pair of these two-toned shoes.

movie interiors: what's your number?

As soon as I saw the trailer for this movie, I knew I had to see it just so I could see more of that apartment! (and I'm a sucker for a good stupid romantic comedy) This place is absolutely fantastic! She's got everything from hardwood floors, exposed brick, gorgeous white kitchen with molding, columns and a vintage blue stove. She even has an adorable little terrace with tiny french doors off her kitchen (which I'm a little upset they never went out on) and even a rooftop terrace. (and check out that view from across the hall...)

I loved this movie. It was exactly what I was looking for, but I must say you have to watch the extended version. Trust me. I normally don't like the extended versions, but the theatrical version was chopped all to hell. I don't know what they were thinking when they edited that down.

SAG awards fashion

It seemed like there were a lot of people missing at the SAG Awards last night. Where was Kate Winslet? Not to mention pretty much the entire cast of Midnight in Paris. I only saw Kathy Bates and Owen Wilson there. I was looking forward to seeing Rachel McAdams, Lea Seydoux, Carla Bruni, Marion Cotillard, etc. My favorite of the night was definitely Michelle Williams though. I really hope she wins the Oscar. She's so adorable. A lot of people were taken aback by Rose Byrne's jumpsuit, but I thought she looked adorable, especially with that hair. The entire time I was watching interviews on E! I couldn't stop looking at Guiliana's amazing dress.

Emma Stone and Emily Blunt were my other two favorites. John Krasinski was probably my best dressed dude. I love the little details on his tux.
