flood

well, I'm having a shitty week. We put my 14+ year old dog to sleep on friday. Then monday this happened. We were at a level 5 drought last year and now this craziness. I might be out for a little while, until this is all cleaned up and hopefully I can recover my computer or at least my external memory!!

hardware fun

I just discovered this new fun tool over at anthropologie
It lets you pick a basic piece of furniture, then decide what color you want it to be. Then, you get to drag and drop all of their different hardware to see how it would look on your furniture. So fun!

I so want these brass twig pulls. So pretty. (wouldn't mind this doormat either...)

new work

I got this idea in my head last week to do something with poppies. (as if I haven't explored the wizard of oz themes enough.) I did a drawing in my sketchbook for the sketchbook project and overlayed it a few times in this picture. I think I might try this again soon.

poppies will make them sleep available @ my etsy shop.

Just played around with some random images for this one, but I like how it turned out. I love when that happens.

Jason Schwartzman polaroids

I just stumbled across these hilarious polaroids of Jason Schwartzman via band of outsiders. I just love him. I still have this autographed poster of him when he was in his band phantom planet. I can't wait for his new HBO series bored to death It starts next sunday. (This sunday is the true blood season finale. sad and exciting.)

movie interiors - P.S. I Love You

A friend told me to watch this movie, but I was very skeptical because usually I cannot stand Hilary Swank. I gave in when it happened to come on HBO this week and I'm glad I did. Not only was it a very sweet movie, but the apartment alone is worth the watch. It's the same set decorator as confessions of a shopaholic. I love searching for new movies on imdb that way.

The whole apart (and movie for that matter) is done in black, white, grey and red with little hints of green. I love when they do that.

I've always wanted a bathroom like her kitchen floor.

I love all of the moldings and columns in this apartment.

I want those bird pillows. I didn't even notice until this picture that they had a piano.

pardon the weird blurry figures. Their coffee table was covered in these gorgeous black and white photos of the two of them.

I love, love, love this. His and her dressers; feminine white and masculine dark wood on opposite walls.

notice the beautiful decorative paint job on her dresser.

I've also always wanted a giant window seat.

and gorgeous brick walls.

The Sketchbook Project

I just discovered this awesome artist co-op that's based in my hometown of ATL that's doing a traveling exhibit called the the sketchbook project

I don't know why I'd never heard of it. I happened to stumble across it at work while doing a search for our local call for entries board. You just sign up, pay $18 and they send you a sketchbook with a randomly selected theme. I ship it back in december where it exhibits for a year and then is stored in their permanent collection library.

My theme is "danger, danger". I wasn't very excited about it at first, but now I'm getting more into it. Here's a few pages I've done:

this page is my favorite so far, I just wish the pages weren't so thin so the colors wouldn't bleed through so much.

btw-you don't have to live in Atlanta to be a part of this, it's a national project.
