Can you guess...
...ok so this one is obvious, but it was either make it obvious or too vague. I think this was the first horror movie I ever saw (the original one). I watched without my parents knowledge on HBO. Parental controls just screw all of that up for kids now. But they do have the internet...

I'm going to go with Friday the 13th. You know, the funny thing is that I think I saw the one where Jason takes Manhattan first - which was apparently the eighth in the franchise... of course, I was also like 10 at the time ;D
