It's safe to say that Stanley Kubrick is a master of film making and his sets are always sublime. The Shining is certainly no different. This grand old hotel is so stunning with the brightly graphic wallpaper and carpets. How iconic is the octagonal floor that Danny rides his tricycle on over and over again? My favorite scene/room is the gold room when Jack steps into the 1920's party. It shimmers and sparkles with a dusky glow that is so beautiful (and incredibly hard to capture on film.) Utterly fantastic.
