oh the lovely west elm. I have so many things from there it ridiculous. Ok, maybe not that many. I absolutely love the styling in their new catalog. They've added a few more retro/vintage pieces so it doesn't look so contrived. I am especially in love with the first bedroom.

The one accessory I always gravitate towards is necklaces. I always wear my wedding rings and this black pearl bracelet my husband bought me on our honeymoon so the only thing I really change is my necklace. Here's some I've fallen in love with from etsy.

I have been baking up a storm lately. I was never really good at it before, but I'm convinced it was because I never had an electric mixer. It really makes all the difference. I came across this wonderful site devoted mostly to cupcakes and tried one this weekend. It was the best cupcake I've ever had. No. 27.


I think I'll make No. 12 next.


I just wish I could have caffeine again! These make my mouth water.


I also made Savory No. 2 which were AMAZING!


But we ate them all before I could photograph them...

I am majorly lacking in the inspiration department lately. I haven't taken shots for weeks except for my brother's author's photo for his next book. I think I'm just sick of summer and am ready for a change of season already. Here's some lovely woodland imagery found via weheartit.

movie interiors: Along Came Polly

I absolutely love, love, love Jennifer Aniston's apartment in this movie. It made me want to buy a red/orange quilt so bad that eventually I did. I just love the eclectic bohemian quality to it.

I love the idea of the collection of vintage mirrors in the bathroom, but not really a great idea if your toilet is placed directly in front of them. Not a pretty site.

101 cookbooks

This weekend I was browsing online for cooking blogs with a lot of vegetarian recipes. Then I came across this amazing blog 101 Cookbooks. I love the photography and the easy to use directory (you can search by style or ingredient). I've already tried four of the recipes and they all were amazing.


I made these orange and oat scones yesterday morning (which is why I didn't post) but substituted dried cranberries for the currants.


This lemon cucumber tofu salad might be my favorite. (pardon my disgusting yellow lighting.)


I just discovered while doing this post that she has a cookbook out that's actually been on my wishlist for almost 2 years! I think it's time to buy.
