The Sketchbook Project

I just barely finished my sketchbook in time to ship it off yesterday. I took it in a different direction than I was going in. My theme was "danger, danger" which I think was a bad omen because when I was exactly halfway done was when my house flooded.

Well I took that idea and ran with it. I dunk my entire sketchbook in water and used my muddy photographs and things from when my brother's loft got hit by a tornado. (we don't have the best luck do we?) Well, here's most of it. The exhibit is going to be in Atlanta, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Chicago. Check it out if you're nearby.

This is the cover. It's the inside of a book jacket from one of my brother's "tornado" books.

at the end I set the last few pages on fire. I had to stick dryer sheets between every page because it reeked of ash and mildew. Now it smells like a meadow!

I love how you took what others might see as a flaw or mistake and just ran with it. The result is fantastic. I just discovered your photography on Etsy, and I love your work!

This is very, very cool. I especially love the pages with the radiator, etc.
